my son has enjoyed hours of fun on this game, building his dream team, playing games, etc. highly recommend.
My son is 11 years old and familiar with the older version of the game. This version of the game is an improvement (and an update) of the one we had before, the 2005 version. It's more realistic, you can modify the players and it's more challenging. In fact, he learned about the game of baseball through that version since we live abroad and otherwise I'd have to explain the rules. Have you ever tried to do that.
What the heck went wrong with this game. I'll get into the pre game routine (announcers and the such) and then almost right after that, the game cuts out. I've tried it on two different PCs (Speedpc from the stone age and an almost brand new Compaq laptop) And it STILL WONT WORK. It seems like the gameplay would be fun and interesting except for the fact that I haven't gotten to play the darn thing. This was the WORST WASTE OF$20 IN MY LIFE. i loved their previous versions but this was just horrific.
I was wrong. I bought this game just for something fun to do. I used to have Backyard Baseball 2001, and thought this would be a much better game being 8 years newer. The graphics arent that good and the gameplay is poor. I would recommend 2001 to anyone interested.
I've tried it on 3 computers and I bought both games, and it just isn't worth the money. I own the Backyard Baseball and Football 09 games ofr the PC, and I recommend not buying it. Buy the old games, they don't get all the glithces as these do. Why. Because it gets all kinds of glitches, gets stuck alot, and it is just not worth the money. I love the Backyard games but I'm sorry to say it's a bust. A Very Thoughtful 2 stars.
